Welcome to PCHEI

The PCHEI is the representative body of Psychological Counsellors in Higher Education in Ireland. It provides support for counsellors, and facilitates continuous professional development. The association also liaises with statutory bodies and other relevant agencies on student issues.

The student counselling service provides a free and confidential service to any student who is in any diffculty or who has issues of concern that they need to discuss.

Founded in 1994 by a group of student counsellors from various 3rd level colleges who were meeting informally for a number of years, the organisation has developed and now represents student counselling services in the vast majority of the higher education institutes in Ireland.
